Synopsis
In what appears to be your typical modern city, a novice art curator named Yu gets the job of collecting a series of comics about a supposedly mythical character named Ikkyu. Seems like a fun gig until Yu begins reading the comics. Yu is recovering from a serious case of codependence and low self-esteem, and the comics trigger her vulnerability. She becomes quietly absorbed in the Ikkyu character, but when she finds out that Ikkyu could be a real person holding powerful secrets, her interest turns to obsession. She’s not the only one after Ikkyu—government agents, a cult, anarchists, and passionate fans are all in pursuit, and Yu becomes the centre of a secret obsessive vortex.
